Bossanossa Quintet is a project created about three years ago with a bossa nova and choro repertoire. With two guitars, cross flute, percussion, drums, double bass and vocals, musicians Joaquim Carvalho, António Meireles, João Santos, Tilike Coelho and Ricardo Silveira execute works by some of the most famous Brazilian composers.
Their live performances include a Tribute to Tom Jobim, at Tertúlia Castelense; participation at a show in Rivoli theatre, musical production and support band in child opera “Saltimbancos”, by Chico Buarque, in collaboration with Ginasiano Dance School; participation at the 3rd edition of “Douro Jazz” festival and other shows in many parts of the country. The fusion of Portuguese and Brazilian musical cultures provide this quintet with a quite unique sonority
