Dance "Sleeping Beauty"

The dance Sleeping Beauty opening night was in S. Petersburg in 1890 and it never stopped being present in dance companies repertoires, with many different versions based on Marius Petipa’s original choreography.
Originally, it was created from an intense relationship between Petipa’s choreography and the music by Piotr Illitch Tchaikovsky. Based on a children’s tale by Perrault, with French style of the 18th century, it was made for a big show, demanding a big cast, with dancers and soloists. The main theme of the dance (the struggle between Good and Evil) draw the basic line of the musical structure, in which Petipa had an innovating action by collaborating with the composer.
