Pianist Luís Magalhães Talent Awards nominee

Pianist Luís Magalhães, resident in South Africa, is one of the three nominees for 2007 Talent Awards, in the category of Performance Arts. Winners will be announced next Sunday, 8th June, at 9:00 p.m., during a show that will take place at Convento do Beato, in Lisbon. RTP will broadcast the show live.
The two other finalists in the Arts category are movie director Cátia Peres and choreographer Pedro Pires, both residents in London.
For the second year in a row, the State Secretary of the Communities will give these awards to Portuguese citizens that were successful in foreign countries in one of the following areas: Visual and Performance Arts, Science, Journalism, Sports, Divulgation of the Portuguese Language, Enterprises and Partnerships, Humanities, Literature, Politics and Liberal Professions.
The jury chose three finalists for each category, among 200 candidates. The Jury was composed by national well known people such as Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, conductor António Vitorino de Almeida, musicians Pedro Abrunhosa and Rui Veloso, writer Lídia Jorge, journalist and writer Miguel Sousa Tavares, stylist Fátima Lopes, and many others.
The Talent Awards will be broadcasted by RTP, RTP International and RTP Africa, and will be presented by José Carlos Malato and Marta Leite Castro.
