Cena Quintet is a project created three years ago based on a bossa nova and choro repertoire. With two guitars, transversal flute, percussion, drums, contra-bass and vocals, the musicians Joaquim Carvalho, António Meireles, João Santos, Tilique Coelho e Ricardo Silveira perform songs of some of the most famous Brazilian composers. Among their live presentations, destacam-se “Tribute to Tom Jobim” at Tertúlia Castelense, participation in a show at Rivoli, musical production and supporting band at Chico Buarque child opera “Os Saltimbancos”, in cooperation with Ginasiano Dance School, participation in the 3rd edition of “Douro Jazz” festival and other presentations in many points of the country. The fusion of Portuguese and Brazilian musical cultures give this quintet a very peculiar sound.
